Writing your final report (25% of the coursework mark).

To complete this coursework, imagine you've carried out this work for an outside organisation. Write a short report, no more than 1 A4 page, summarising what you have done. Explain how you determined the distances to the galaxies, what assumptions were used and what uncertainties these assumptions introduce. If appropriate, you can discuss briefly ways in which Astronomical distances are determined. Even though you got the galaxy redshifts from a database, discuss how one might determine redshifts and what redshifts are. Discuss Hubble's Law and Hubble's constant and how these can be used to determine the age of the Universe. Finish your report by briefly discussing why such research is important. Remember to be quantitative where appropriate and you may include equations if relevant.
