Every SuperCOSMOS IAM data set is issued with an associated ASCII file containing "housekeeping" information, which includes details of the plate scanned as well as information about the measurement and values used or calculated during data processing.
Whenever practicable the IAM file contains positional information in (RA,DEC) as well as in SuperCOSMOS (X,Y) coordinates. When this is the case, the ASCII housekeeping file contains the coefficients of the coordinate transformation. This document describes software which can make use of the coefficients to perform transformations in either direction between (RA,DEC) and the (X,Y) system of the measurement.
