The Hubble Deep Field
So that’s all very nice and pretty but what does it tell us? Well for starters we can see a wide variety of galaxy types in this image. This is interesting to those who study galaxy formation, as the hubble deep field is looking at galaxies at the furthest edge of our universe, and hence we can say that at this point in time in the evolution of the universe, all types of galaxies existed and maybe this suggests that the different types of galaxy are not a historical evolution.
