I am the Professor of Extragalactic Astrophysics in the Institute for Astronomy (part of the School of Physics & Astronomy) at the University of Edinburgh. This is located within the The Royal Observatory Edinburgh.

My research covers a wide range of extragalactic astrophysics, mostly observation-driven. My particular interests are in galaxy formation and evolution, active galactic nuclei (especially radio-loud AGN), cosmic star formation, radio astronomy, and the early Universe.
