Basic ingest, indexing along with tracking housekeeping data will be provided by any commercially available DBMS. Additional software is needed, for example to reformat object catalogue tables from FITS and generally strip housekeepong data (requirements C8, D21, A1, A3). Pairing software (over and above simple DBMS `joins' between different tables) will be needed for robust merging of datasets obtained in different colours and at different times.
