Images of old Edinburgh
I have lived in Edinburgh for over 40 years, and continue to find it a visually stunning city. Being a cosmologist and interested in how the universe evolved into its present state, naturally it is fascinating to look at how the city has changed. This is a collection of various images that can be found online that show this evolution, many focusing on the Grange: the area to the south of the city where I live. It's incredibly impressive how much detail is to be found in these early sketches and photographs, as can be seen by zooming in on the images: our common modern tool of a mobile phone camera struggles to do as well.
