If true then the 2 by 2 matrix switch, in the IF processors for both polarizations, will be set to pass the signal through the 12GHz low-pass filter. If false the 8.5GHz filter is used. Normally the 12GHz filter is used when the corresponding second LO frequency is greater than about 10.5GHz.
