Centaurus A – Multi-wavelength
The recently launched Chandra X-ray observatory (a satellite) produced this clearer image of the jet. The mystery of NGC 5128 was finally solved though with the Infra-red Space Observatory, which shows that at the heart of NGC 5128 lies a barred spiral galaxy, proving the original merger theory to be correct. This is a good example of science that can be learnt by observing objects across the spectrum from radio to x-rays.
