Service Composition for Data Exploration in the Virtual Observatory

The SC4DEVO initiative was one of the first round of International Sister Projects funded by the UK e-Science Core Programme. It comprised a series of four workshops during 2004 and 2005, two - SC4DEVO-1 and SC4DEVO-3 - devoted to the core topic of service composition for data exploration in the Virtual Observatory and two - SC4DEVO-2 and SC4DEVO-4 - with a wider scope, encompassing analogous activities across the whole of e-Science.

Copies of all the presentations made at the SC4DEVO workshops are available from the links below:

  • SC4DEVO-1: 12-15 July 2004. Caltech, Pasadena, USA
  • SC4DEVO-2: 30 November - 2 December 2004. Edinburgh, UK

  • SC4DEVO-4: 13-15 December 2005. Edinburgh, UK

The Principal Investigator of the EPSRC grant funding the SC4DEVO initiative was Prof Malcolm Atkinson of the National e-Science Centre and the Co-Investigator was Prof Andy Lawrence of the Institute for Astronomy,University of Edinburgh. SC4DEVO was run by Dr Bob Mann, also of the Institute for Astronomy,University of Edinburgh, to whom any questions about the initiative should be addressed.
