I’m entering my third year of a PhD at the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Astronomy (IfA), which is being supervised by Dr. Ken Rice. Together with George Mamatsashvili and Peter Gibbons, we comprise a research group studying numerical simulations of protoplanetary discs and other planet formation scenarios. As an outside project, I also engage in astrobiological research, focusing on numerical methods in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). I’ve also been involved in several outreach and education projects including the Cafe Scientifique Network and the Scottish School GLOW network.

When I’m not working or educating, I like to play basketball and golf, and I’ve taken up squash (with limited success!). Having recently inherited a garden, I am enjoying the challenge of keeping it in order. I’m making my first forays into amateur drama (behind the scenes, watch this space!). On a less active note, I’m currently trying to learn the guitar, but my lack of musical ability is hampering my efforts! Finally, I’m passionate about good coffee, good beer, and a good whisky at the end of the day...http://www.roe.ac.uk/ifa/people/wkmr.htmlhttp://www.roe.ac.uk/ifa/people/grm.htmlhttp://www.roe.ac.uk/ifa/people/pgg.htmlhttp://www.roe.ac.uk/ifa/people/pgg.htmlhttp://www.cafescientifique.org/http://www.cafescientifique.org/http://www.ltscotland.org.uk/glowscotland/index.aspshapeimage_3_link_0shapeimage_3_link_1shapeimage_3_link_2shapeimage_3_link_3shapeimage_3_link_4shapeimage_3_link_5shapeimage_3_link_6
