I am the Regius Professor of Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh. I work at the Institute for Astronomy, which together with the UK Astronomy Technology Centre makes up the Royal Observatory Edinburgh(ROE). The IfA is part of the School of Physics and Astronomy of the University. The School of Physics and Astronomy is part of the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA). My research interests are in Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), observational cosmology, survey astronomy, and e-science (the Virtual Observatory).
