Big Telescopes For Big Questions

The Royal Observatory Edinburgh is helping design some of the world's largest ground-based and space telescopes, including the European Extremely Large Telescope and the James Webb Space Telescope. Come along to our family workshops to discover the enormous challenges posed by these giant instruments, and the big questions astronomers hope they will answer. Enjoy a short talk followed by fun hands-on activities.

Suitable for children aged 8+

Public Astronomy Evenings

Due to essential repairs to the Victorian telescope domes, we are unable to run our Friday public evening sessions. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and look forward to welcoming you when the work is finished.

In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about astronomy, why not come along to one of our Winter Talks. To see the full programme, please click on the link to Winter Talks on the left.
