Other Partners
An important forum and vehicle for partnership in which the UK ATC participates is OPTICON. OPTICON is a major project funded by the European commission as part of its Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). As well as providing overall management for the OPTICON programme, the UK ATC is an active participant in two Joint Research Activities - Fast Detectors and Smart Focal Planes in which it is lead partner. The UK ATC also contributes to setting the direction for astronomy technology development through its leadership of the OPTICON Key Technologies Network.
