Yoke was successfully installed into the Enclosure.
Minor alterations had to make to the enclosure doors
All went smoothly without hitch and mated to the bearing without problem!

The altitude was fitted out with bearings, motors and ancillary gear while at ground level after which it was lifted as an assembly and aligned and attached to the azimuth axis yoke.

In the same manner as the Altitude the M1 cell has been partially fitted out at ground level before being lifted as an assembly to be aligned and mounted to the altitude ring.

28 July 2004 Delivery to VPO of Prototype Axial supports
After
VertexRSI satisfactory completion of testing of the Axial supports, two prototypes
including their associated control hardware were delivered to VPO. The delivered
equipment will be mainly used in interface testing of the M1 Local Control
Unit. Pictured below is one of the two axial actuators incorporating a preloaded
piston driven by a Bellofram diaphragm, a contact head assembly with low lateral
stiffness and a high accuracy load cell.
