VISTA Project Board (VPB)
Purpose
The purpose of the VISTA Project Board (VPB) is to provide STFC with an oversight and control mechanism for VISTA with the authority and expertise to ensure that the telescope is built and delivered to Chile within the budget and timescale available.
Terms of Reference
The VISTA Project Management Committee will:
- be the senior decision-making body for overseeing the construction of VISTA and its delivery to ESO
- authorise action by the ATC consistent with the QMUL/PPARC and ESO/PPARC* agreements
- interact directly and regularly with the VISTA Project Office (VPO) team
- advise STFC Director Programmes
Membership
The members of the VPB were appointed by PPARC*. The current membership of the VPB is:

- Richard Holdaway (RAL)
- Patrick Roach (Oxford)
- External Expert, Robert Laing (ESO)
- Director UK ATC, Ian Robson

- Project Manager, Alistair McPherson (UK ATC) now Bryan Little (UK ATC)
- Project Scientist, Will Sutherland (QMUL)
* As of the 1st of April 2007 PPARC is now part of the STFC
