ACSIS

ACSIS, the Auto-Correlation Spectrometer and Imaging System, will work together with HARP, the Heterodyne Array Receiver Programme, on the JCMT. It will convert the data from HARP into digital images. The UK ATC is writing the data analysis software for ACSIS.

ACSIS is being built at the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics at the Dominion Radio Astrophyical Observatory in Penticton, Canada, with the UK ATC, the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory in Victoria, Canada and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Charlottesville, USA as collaborators.

ACSIS is due to be delivered to the Hawaiian telescope in 2004.

More technical information about ACSIS is available from the project pages, the Herzberg Institute of Astrophysics website or by contacting the project scientist Bill Dent.
