Educational opportunities for ambitious PhD students

In an increasingly competitive employment environment, with a vast increase in the size of the graduate population, differentiation is key and it is crucial that a student does everything they can to make themselves stand out from the crowd. Industrial placements provide students with a competitive advantage by equipping them with valuable work experience.

The Higgs Centre for Innovation is offering six month placements to PhD students who are working, or aspiring to work in, data science or data-intensive science through the Scottish Data-Intensive Science Triangle (ScotDIST) - a partnership between the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, and St. Andrews. The placements are funded by STFC.

Students will be rewarded with the opportunity to work with the companies on our Business Incubation Programs and can gain first-hand experience of the commercial and industrial data-driven world, and apply their skills to real world problems.
